Michael Bindon and I with Michael’s elephant.
Due to the thickness of the ivory this one will not weigh heavy but by far the longest tusk I have hunted in Botswana; 52 inches from the lip. It will most certainly attain 7 feet of ivory. Taking an elephant is a weird deal. As soon as the elation of success subsides, you are stricken with a feeling of great sorrow and remorse at having killed such a magnificent beast. There is the fact that the hunt is over and oftentimes its been a hunt anticipated for many years – yes indeed elephant hunting has a strange lure and one that’s often hard to describe!
